Wheeler, Burton K. house
From ENHLDWiki
The Burton K. Wheeler house, at 1232 E. Second Street, is the only separately listed National Historic Landmark in Butte. With a total in the United States of about 2,500 NHLs, this gives added prestige to this home. It was designated a NHL (and simultaneously listed on the National Register) on December 8, 1976, on the basis of its connection to Wheeler, a U.S. District Attorney in Butte and U.S. Senator from Montana from 1923 to 1947. He lived in this house from 1908 until he went to Washington, D.C., in 1923.
