Budgeting Comments

I also upped the Project Director budget - in reading the app. materials, they say things like "Project Directors must devote a significant portion of their time to their projects." So, I based it on about 2/3 of a $36K/yr salary, upped it with in-kind, etc. But, please understand - my attitude about "project management" for something like this is that it is way overblown, and although I took myself off the "historians" list I would view myself doing a LOT more of that than "project management" - so it would be unwritten here, but something on the order of an additional 30% (or more) of the historian hours would be from me, though not counted there. Does this make sense? I just want it perfectly clear that I have no intention of being a "project manager" without also making very significant contribution to the actual project - so, there is a new line in the proj. dir job description about providing expertise to the technical ends... my view is that I'd mostly be doing that, even though we won't tell the grant people that.
