Paumie Block
From ENHLDWiki
Marie Paumie, from France, arrived in Butte in 1887 and established the first dry cleaning business in Montana. This building, at 56-60 W. Galena, was built in 1898; the addition to the east doubled the size of the structure. The 1-story additon on the south (early 1900s) was a pressing room.
Paumie Cleaners occupied this building into the 1970s. It is now occupied by the US Post Office Uptown Substation.
