National Register
From ENHLDWiki
National Register properties are places of special historic interest, designated by the National Park Service. Approximately 80,000 properties carry this designation, in contrast with fewer than 2,500 National Historic Landmarks. See the National Register of Historic Places on Wikipedia for more information.
All contributing properties within a National Historic Landmark District are automatically listed on the National Register. The following properties in Butte and Anaconda enjoy individual listings on the National Register. Some of these (e.g., Socialist Hall) fall outside the boundary of the NHLD but are specifically included within it.
Butte-Silver Bow probably has a relatively small number of separately listed National Register properties because of its early (1961) designation as a National Historic Landmark District, so that its contributing properties were automatically, but not separately, listed on the National Register. Butte's contributing properties can still apply for separate designation on the National Register.
