Help:Major errors
From ENHLDWiki
No worries.
Click the "history" tab at the top of the article you were working on. You'll see a list something like this:
* (cur) (last) 19:05, 28 October 2007 Dick * (cur) (last) 16:12, 27 October 2007 Dick * (cur) (last) 15:56, 27 October 2007 Dick * (cur) (last) 01:42, 11 February 2007 Dick (new page)
The top one is the one you just saved (cur = current). If you click on the "last" in that top, current version line, it will take you to a page comparing that version with the previous one. Your "bad" version will be on the right, the version before you saved it will be on the left. On that screen, click (in the left column) the "previous diff" link. Now the version before the one you screwed up is on the right. Click the "edit" tab, and just save the page without making any changes. In these comparison screens, the one on the right is the "active" version.
You have just reverted to the version before the one you screwed up. Although your screwed-up page is now no longer the displayed (current, "cur") page, it is still there in the history, so if you accidentally follow this procedure and save the wrong version, it is easy to recover from that, too. The next time you click the history tab, the version you reverted back to is now the top, current version; you can select any older version (ideally the correct one!), open its edit box, and save it.
If you only have a mistake or two, or want to add material, it is probably easier to just edit the page again and make whatever corrections, changes, additions, or subtractions you want.
