Use Back Button

• This may not help you the first time, but if it happens again, just use your browser's back and forward buttons - you should be able to get back to the edit screen where you were typing stuff. This MAY work even after you have left the wiki in disgust. Try it. Another possible way to get back to where you were typing is by using your browser's history button, whereby you may be able to get to previous pages you visited.

Save externally

• And of course, this is a good lesson to never trust Mr Browser & Mrs Wiki completely. You can always create what you want to input in WORD or some other word processor, save it, then copy-and-paste into the Wiki edit box. Especially if you've done a lot of writing!

Save frequently

• Another thing you can do is save early and often. Type the first paragraph, or sentence, or whatever, then save. To add the next bit, just click the edit tab again and edit what is now pre-existing (and saved) text by adding your new stuff below it. And save. Then click the edit tab again and add some more. And save. This is one reason why Dick has so many edits.

Use Tabs (in Firefox)

• Tip for users or Firefox: It's really useful sometimes to have two tabs open, maybe both open in the wiki - this allows you to copy code or content (like a standard, common reference) from one page, for example, and bring it to the page you are editing for pasting. Be careful to be sure you know which tab you're working in!
