Max Detjens implemented the wiki, and his company Silverbow Software provides the server for this site at no charge. Max is our technology troubleshooter as well as a contributor to the content of articles.

Content

See Personnel. All efforts are volunteer, including writing, photography, and editing. Articles are typically started by one person, but then EVERYone can and should contribute to them all. Click the "history" tab at the top of any page to see who contributed what, and when, to that article.

Oversight

Virtual Historic Butte is a project of Butte Citizens for Preservation and Revitalization.

Registered editors can contact each other within the wiki by posting messages on the discussion ("talk") pages of specific articles, or on the talk pages of other registered users. In fact, this kind of communication is encouraged so that the entire community can participate. See also Help:Communication - or just click the "discussion" tab at the top of the appropriate page and start typing.

This wiki is set up so that everyone can visit, but only registered editors can change articles. To register, you need to be approved. Please send an e-mail to one of our Administrators, Dick (rigibson@earthlink.net) or Max (max@buttenhld.org). If you are not known to us, please include some background about yourself and what kinds of contributions you expect to be making to this project.

Dick and Max are administrators for this wiki, which means they can set up accounts, block vandals, and perform a few other tasks. In general, all registered editors can edit all pages.
